Steal of a deal

I'll just start off by saying I looove a good deal. I never buy clothes full price and can't imagine buying baby things full price either. I am not as good as Kristi, over at Strength, Hope and Everything in Between, but I try.

The other day someone posted on The Bump message boards that Target had the Baby Jogger City Micro on clearance for $50. This is the stroller of my dreams. Babies R Us sells one called the City Mini, which is the exact same thing as the City Micro, as far as I can tell. Anyway, Babies R Us sells the City Mini for $249.99 which you can find here. Target online sells the City Micro for $199, which you can find here. You see any difference in the two? Yea me either.

Back to the original point, Monday someone posts on the message boards that some Targets have the City Micro marked down to $50. I about crapped my pants. The closest Target to me is an hour away, so I immediately text my sister and ask her to check the Targets by her since she lives really close to two. I also text my sister in law and ask her to check her Targets too. Well SIL calls the Target by her and they don't have anymore. My sister calls the Target by her work and they don't have any. She calls the Target by where she lives and they have some! THANK THE LORD! She drives to the Target and what do you know, they are only clearanced down to $99. $99 isn't good enough for me. I want the $50 price so we decide to pass. Tuesday my wonderful sister, who is going to be the worlds best aunt ever, calls all the Targets within an hour of me. All 7 of them. Most of them tell her they are out of them. One Target says they have a few, but they are $99. One Target has TWO for $50! Again, I am crapping my pants. I am so excited about this news!

This Target that has two is an hour away and it was a Tuesday so I knew Chris wasn't going to be pleased about going after work, but I tell him that we really need to go and he says ok. Then I get to thinking that I have a wonderful friend that lives in that town, so I text her and ask her to do me the worlds biggest favor. She says of course and that she lives right next to that Target! She went to the Target and asked the lady where she could find one. The lady tells her that that stroller is only sold online so they don't have any. She calls me and tells me this and I was like ooooo no, you tell that lady she is lying. So friend walks around all the strollers and doesn't see it. She then asks another person and he takes her to another part of the store and shows her where they are, on the bottom shelf. She loads it up and calls me and tells me the amazing news!

I see her on Thursdays because we go to school together and so we did the exchange of money for merchandise this afternoon. Then I came directly home and put it together. It literally took 5 seconds. It was so easy. I'm in LOVE!

Also, I want to thank my sister and my friend for being so amazing and helping me get this. I really can't thank you both enough!! This baby is super lucky to have such loving people surrounding him.

Hump Day Bump Day Week 17

I haven't done a bump post in 4 weeks. Time sure does fly! I can't believe I'm already 17 weeks. I feel like second tri is going so fast.

Week: 17

How Big is Baby: Baby is the size of a onion! The bump says "Baby continues to beef up. Now she's about 5.1 inches long and weighs about 5.9 ounces. Her rubbery cartilage is now turning to bone. And she's growing some meat on those bones -- putting on some fat. She's growing a stronger, thicker umbilical cord, too."

Weight Gain: About 7 lbs

Gender: BOY!

Names: We have a couple names that we are trying to settle on, but we won't be sharing until baby is born.

Symptoms: Sciatic nerve pain and lower back pain. The Dr told me I should start doing yoga for this so I bought prenatal yoga and prenatal pilates and am going to start doing them tomorrow.

Sleep: Sleep has been great. I don't wake up at all during the night and have no trouble falling asleep.

Movement: I've' been feeling flutters! I love it. Baby seems to love Reeses eggs because I can always feel him move after I eat one, which is often : )

Maternity Clothes: I'm pretty much only wearing maternity clothes now and my regular cardigans and a few shirts.

Food Cravings: I've been loving Reeses eggs but that really isn't a new craving for me. I always love them this time of year.

Food Aversions: Nothing.

Stretchmarks: not yet.

What I'm Looking Forward To: my next ultrasound on Feb 18th

What I Miss: nothing.

Next Drs Appointment:  Feb 18 for the anatomy scan.

Best Moment of the Week: finding out we are having a boy!

**Mobile users can click on the pictures to make them bigger. I noticed they are really small when I looked at it on my phone**

14, 15, 16, and 17 weeks.

7 weeks vs 17 weeks

I almost forgot how skinny I use to be.

It's a....

BOY!!!!!

Today was amazing! We are so excited to be having a little boy. It feels so much more real knowing that there is a little Chris growing in there. I am so in love.

We got a very clear view of the boy parts, but I don't feel comfortable putting his weiner out there for the world to see haha so here are a few other pictures we got.

Side view with his hand to his face. He was sleeping the whole time and barely moved so we didn't get too many different pictures.

Look at the little feet!!

Today!

Today is the day! We are finding out the sex in five and a half hours! I'm very excited. All this time I've been having strong girl feelings, but then something switched this week and I've been feeling boy vibes. Now I really don't know what I think the tech will say. I can't wait to find out though. Either way I'm going to be so happy and it'll be nice to be able to bond even more knowing I have a little boy or girl rolling around in there. My parents are coming with us and my sister and her boyfriend. They are all so excited. After we find out we are going to do a little shopping and then out to dinner. I will update tonight! Fx baby isn't stubborn and shows us it's goods right away!

14 weeks 5 days

This is what my living room looks like right now.

That is a crib and a dresser. It was a hassle to get home too. Last Wednesday babies r us emailed to me let me know that the furniture was in and I had 5 days to come get it before it got sent back. The closest babies r us is an hour away, so that is the store it was sent to. We couldn't go get it that night or Thursday night because of work and such. Also, Wednesday Chris learned that someone close to him had passed away and he was going to have to go 3 hours out of town for the weekend for the funeral. So, basically I was going to have to figure out how to get the furniture on Saturday by myself. Luckily, my parents were free and we all piled in to my dad's truck and off we went! When we got there the girl at the customer service desk asked if we had a big car because our boxes were big. Uh yea, we have a truck. Sooo then they bring out the first box, the dresser. Holy moly, the box was huge! My dad has a cap on his truck bed and the big dresser barely fit. They then told us the crib was even taller and just as long. No way it was going to fit in the truck with the cap on. Not a chance. So we loaded up the dresser and the mattress and then walked around babies r us a little bit. I got a tucan stuffed animal that Chris had really wanted to get the last time we were there. After babies r us we went to Panera and then drove the hour home. When we got home my dad hooked his trailer up to the truck and he went back to babies r us to get the crib. My mom and I didn't go. When he got there to pick up the crib no one was there that was there before and he didn't have any of the paper work so they weren't going to let him take the crib. He finally saw the guy who helped him load the dresser and he vouched for him so he was able to take it home. Now both pieces are sitting in my living room, because the guest room is still full of things and can't be emptied until the guestroom in the basement is finished. Oooo my. It sure was an interesting journey getting the furniture, but I am so happy to have it!

Hump Day Bump Day Week 13

Holy moly!! Second tri!! I am so excited to be entering the second trimester. I feel really good. Both of our families know about the pregnancy. All announcements went well. The only thing I have left to do is announce on facebook, which I am going to do Jan 26 when we find out the sex. I had originally planned to announce on New Years, but I'm still too scared/nervous to have that many people know about it. Hopefully, I'll feel better when we know the sex.

Chris's parents bought us our crib and a dresser over the weekend, and my mom is buying us the other dresser that goes in the set. We still have a lot of work to do to get the nursery ready to even put furniture in, so it will be in boxes for a long while, but I'm super excited to have it ordered.

Week: 13

How Big is Baby: Baby is the size of a peach! The bump says "She's about 2.9 inches long and weighs about .81 ounces, and -- proportion-wise -- her head's now about 1/3 the size of her body. Can you believe she's forming vocal cords and teeth?! And even though she's still teeny, she already has fingerprints. Her intestines are moving from the umbilical cord to their more permanent place, in her tummy."

Weight Gain: I'm not weighing at home anymore, but I was up 1.8 at my last Dr appt.

Gender: Chris thinks it's a boy, and I think it's a girl. Everyone in our families think it's a girl too. I can't wait to find out Jan 26!

Names: We have names and we are pretty set on them, but they could change and we aren't sharing til baby is born.

Symptoms: I've been having headaches, but that's about it. Ooo and sore boobs still.

Sleep: I get up a couple times to pee, but have no trouble falling back to sleep.

Movement: Soon! I can not wait. I could start feeling movement in the next couple weeks.

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing maternity pants now, and I have one shirt that I've worn a couple times. I am going this weekend to buy a couple more tops.

Food Cravings: Not really cravings, but when someone talks about something they ate or want to eat, I instantly have to have it. Today it was pickles and cottage cheese. Yum!

Food Aversions: Nothing.

Stretchmarks: not yet.

What I'm Looking Forward To: finding out the sex.

What I Miss: nothing.

Next Drs Appointment:  I have a Drs appt Jan 21 and find out the sex Jan 26.

Best Moment of the Week: deciding on baby furniture and having it ordered.

Bump pics week 12 and 13. Something is starting to happen.

Ooo and we got a new bed frame for Christmas from my parents. It's pictured in the 13 week picture. We also rearranged our room so that there is enough room on my side for a rock n play or bassinet.

And because he is so cute. Whiskey was cold today. It was 5* for most of the day.

Our furniture!!
